The FyenCS Young Professionals Program (YPP) is a launching pad to an exciting career in global business and international development. We offer an opportunity to help build the public and private sectors in The Gambia, and other developing countries.

The YPP program is designed for highly qualified and motivated current or recently graduated students skilled in areas relevant to FyenCS’s technical/operations such as economics, public policy, international development, finance, public health, social sciences, information technology and others.

YP’s are responsible for identifying and monitoring opportunities, executing transactions, conducting on the ground research and producing reports with rigorous analysis, innovative solutions and presentations with a focus on positive development impact.

 

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Utilize various research techniques to gather information in support of capture activities to include strategic planning, contract scope, spending profile, key personnel, potential teammates, and competitors.

  • Create logic models to facilitate the planning and communication of project objectives and accomplishments.

  • Develop new and improved systems, templates, and tools using MS Excel and MS Word to capture project Developed new and improved systems, templates, and tools using MS Excel and MS Word to capture project updates maximizing operational effectiveness.

  • Help ensure that departmental information systems such as SharePoint and MS Project were organized and up to date, monitored internal and external deadlines to ensure staff compliance.

  • Coordinate conferences, workshops, trainings and events as assigned for both Fyen Consulting and Fyenetwork.

  • Coordinate and manage Fyenetwork social media accounts.

ELIGIBILITY:

  • Recent graduates of Political Science, Social Sciences, Economics, MBA or similar.

  • Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to business and development, proven academic success, leadership capability, and professionalism.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

  • Strong analytical and assessment skills.

  • Knowledge of relevant industry sector trends.

  • Sound business judgment and problem solving, negotiation and commercial skills.

  • Ability to develop new business and effectively focus on client needs.

  • Enthusiasm for working in multi-cultural and diverse teams; and across borders.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
